Photovoltaic unit awarding ceremony was held at the ENU Transport and Energy Faculty

On December 7, a ceremony was held to present a photovoltaic system to the Faculty of Transport and Energy at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana. The photovoltaic system was installed at the university as part of the "Solar Universities" project, about which you can read more in this article.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Energy, Director of the Department of Academic Affairs, Head of the Department of "Standardization, Certification and Metrology", Guest Professor of ENU Siegfried Peter Ladnorg, Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Transport and Energy, faculty members of the department, representatives of ECO NRG, which installed the system, as well as by students of ENU.

The awarding ceremony was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University. He thanked the German government, the companies eclareon and ideas into energy, and Mr. Siegfried Ladnorg for the valuable donation. He stressed the importance of students gaining research skills in the field of resource-saving technologies, in particular renewable energy sources.

Professor Siegfried Ladnorg lectured on "Innovation and Innovation Activity", "Commercialization of New Technologies", "Standardization of Science-intensive Products", "International Standards for Sustainable Development", "Standardization of Intelligent Transport Systems" and other topics for students and graduates of the "Standardization, Certification and Metrology" department as a guest professor. His lectures on "International standards for sustainable development" were of particular interest among students. This topic is considered especially important for Kazakhstan, which is on the way to build a green economy. In his lectures Ladnorg raised the problem of sustainable development of small and medium-sized cities of Kazakhstan. His lectures addressed the problem of rational use of resources, and the innovative development of the country.

The installed photovoltaic system has the following technical characteristics: high efficiency of 19% using Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC) technology; high solar energy conversion efficiency after using 4BB technology; output of 90% of rated power; long service life; small size for the same power, high protection against the bad effects of PID.

The ENABLING PV project team owes special thanks to Professor Baykhozhaeva Uzakovna Bakhytkul, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department "Standardization, Certification and Metrology", member of the International Academy of Quality Management and Honored Metrologist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the support in creating this article.
