Goethe Specialised State General Education School No. 60 is located in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

School No. 60 has specialised in teaching a range of subjects in German since 1962. In 1995, the school was attested and accredited as a linguistic gymnasium. In 1996, the experience of the gymnasium was studied and approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In accordance with the Decree No. 12-2 of the MES Board of Directors dated 27.12.1996, the Republican Language Training Centre was established on the basis of the Linguistic Gymnasium No. 60 in cooperation with the German Central Agency for School Education Abroad (ZfA) to prepare pupils of Tashkent city and the Republic of Uzbekistan for the German language examination “Sprachdiplom” international standard certificate.

For 27 years, school No. 60 has been the language centre for preparation of students for the Sprachdiplom international certificate exam, which provides enough knowledge of German to continue studies at German institutions of higher education and serves as a solid base for preparation of highly qualified personnel with knowledge of German at level C1 according to all-European standards.
