On June 25, 2024, the Photon Gymnasium in Gyumri proudly inaugurated its status as a Solar School, setting a benchmark for sustainable education in Armenia.
The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome from School Principal Karine Petoyan, who greeted distinguished guests and attendees. Among them were Erik Tintrup, Chargé d’Affaires and Permanent Representative of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Yerevan, Benjamin Speth, Adviser for German as a Foreign Language from the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA) in Armenia, and Christoph Urbschat, Managing Director of Ideas into Energy gGmbH.
Following a comprehensive explanation of the photovoltaic (PV) system provided by the installer to students and teachers, a celebratory program unfolded in the assembly hall. The ceremony's highlight was the presentation of a certificate and three experimental kits for physics classes, symbolizing a commitment to hands-on, innovative learning.
We are thrilled to be part of this journey towards a greener future and eagerly anticipate the lasting impact of this project on the students and the broader community.
