ENABLING PV Spin-Off Project: Solar Energy Training Program at Phazisi College, Poti, Georgia
As part of the ENABLING PV initiative, the Solar Energy Training Program at Phazisi College in Poti, Georgia, is designed to bridge the skills gap in Georgia’s renewable energy sector. This week-long course, titled “Design, Installation, and Operation of Solar Power Plants,” combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on training, preparing students to enter the workforce equipped to support Georgia’s shift toward sustainable energy.

Program Structure and Key Collaborators
Developed in collaboration with Innovation Energy LLC, the Eberhard Schöck Foundation, and EUROSOLAR Georgia, the program focuses on equipping students with comprehensive skills for designing, installing, and managing solar energy systems. The course curriculum covers fundamental concepts of solar technology as well as advanced installation techniques.

Instructional Expertise and Hands-On Learning
The program is delivered by leading experts in the field, including Levan Robakidze (Georgian Technical University), Eberhart Syril (Energy Transition Cooperative), and Irakli Babunashvili (PV Georgia). Through practical exercises on-site at Phazisi College, students engage directly with solar technology, including supervised installation practice on the college’s rooftop.

Program Outcomes and Industry Relevance
Upon completion, students undergo practical assessments, and successful participants receive certification, validating their skills for roles in Georgia’s solar energy industry. This training initiative aligns with ENABLING PV’s goals by advancing renewable energy education and fostering a skilled workforce prepared to meet industry demands.

Strategic Impact
The program’s success supports ENABLING PV’s commitment to strengthening the renewable energy sector across the South Caucasus, creating job opportunities, and contributing to Georgia’s sustainable energy future.
