School No. 52, with a rich history, was founded in 1962 and is located in the heart of the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Since 2008, intensive German language education starting from the 3rd grade has been a significant feature of the school. Currently, the school has 1,711 students under the guidance of 100 experienced educators. The school is recognized as a DSD (Deutsches Sprachdiplom) school, confirming its status as a center for German culture and language in the region.
The school’s leadership, dedicated teachers, and professional support from German colleagues and local organizations breathe new life into many aspects of school life. Additionally, there are numerous projects, such as the “German Language Week” and participation in Georgian and German competitions for students.
Since 2014, the school has hosted the national finals of the “Lesefüchse International” project. Twice, students from the school have won as national champions and participated in the international competition finals in Berlin. Since 2009, the school has organized an intellectual quest for students learning the German language in Georgia, which takes place in the botanical garden. Students actively participate in the “School Journalists for the Caucasian Post” project, supported by the editorial team of the German-language newspaper in Georgia and the Central Office for Schools Abroad.
